Crazy Dog Audio Theatre has been privileged to draw on the outstanding talents of artists like these:
|
 | Roger Gregg Roger Gregg is a playwright, musician and actor living in Ireland since 1980. Over the past 22 years has written plays and music for Irish theatre companies as diverse as; Dublin Youth Theatre, TEAM Education Theatre Co., Graffiti Theatre-In-Education Co., The Razor Edge Theatre Co., Oberon Theatre and The Gaiety School of Acting. He has also been commissioned by RTÉ [the National Broadcasting Company of Ireland] to write several radio comedy series for Crazy Dog Audio Theatre. Internationally, his stages plays have also been performed at New York University's Black Box Theatre and by Theaterpedagogisches Zentrum in Nurmberg, Germany, and at the ARENA Festival in Irlangen, Germany. He and Crazy Dog are 3 time winners of the Mark Time Award. [Silver 1999, Gold 2000, Gold 2001.] Their BIG BIG SPACE series was awarded a Golden Earphone Award from AUDIOFILE magazine. And the episode 'Who's Afraid of Rotwang Krell' from BIG BIG SPACE, has also been RTE's entry in the 2002 Prix Europa Awards. As a musician Roger has created and recorded music and soundscapes for numerous exhibitions, short films and theatre productions. He was worked extensively for Ireland’s prestigious BARRABAS Theatre Company creating soundscapes and music for their productions of 'HUPNOUSE' , 'OUT THE BACK DOOR' , ‘DOG’and for their THE CUBE production which was chosen to represent Ireland at EXPO 2000 in Hannover Germany. An accomplished voice over artist, he performs in several animation series including NORMAL NORMAL, THE WORLD OF TOSH, APE and WESTOONS. He narrates ‘destination MATH’ riverdeep interactive on-line learning and regularly does voice overs for radio and television commercials. He has also appeared many times on television and film, most recently as Professor McCormick in the movie About Adam. He lives in Dublin with his wonderful wife, Sunniva O’Flynn, and their two equally wonderful children, Louis and Fiadh. A left-hander who refuses to own a car, he bicycles everywhere talking to himself as he weaves through the continuous traffic jam, pot holes and litter that conspire to choke Dublin. He remains a philosophical Sceptic who does not blame the 'System' for breaking down, since his inquiries have led him to conclude that there was never actually any 'System' to begin with. His voice/over demo can be heard at: Link: www.voicebank.ie/roger_gregg.html | | Morgan C. Jones Morgan C. Jones started his career as a stand up comedian, took a left turn as a television actor, arrived at theatre, got lost on the way out; went back to stand up to see if anyone had found his jacket - was told to look where he last remembered wearing it; went back to television to discover that he had left his jacket there, but that in his absence it had been developed as a twenty six episode agricultural soap opera and was regularly appearing on daytime TV as an agony garment. Then lo! there came forth from the west a man who spake unto Morgan and did say in an mighty voice: "I am the Roger thy Gregg who shalt be known to thee and thine as 'Rog'...do you want to be in a radio thing I'm doing itskindaweirdbutifyoureadityou'llseewhatI'mtalkinabout theresagiantrabbitandit'llberealneatyou'llsee...." Several years and some sixteen slapstick radio pastiches later, Morgan finally worked out what Rog was saying, and vowed never to eat those bluish grey mushrooms ever again. In addition to stand-up, telly, stage and what not, Morgan was one half of www.2irish.com, at one time Ireland's only daily updated political satire and topical comedy website - until he and co-creator Dermot Carmody found their way out of the room with the computer in it. Check it out, it might still be out there. In recognition of his work as a TV satirist, he was excommunicated from the catholic church by Tridentine rite in 1991. In spite of this, he frequently has to wade through rain forests of Parish Bulletins and Power to Change leaflets which are still pushed through his letterbox like A5 missionaries. How badly organised IS the Vatican anyway? Surely you would have thought that they would have informed Head Office after excommunicating a guy. Morgan is married, has five children, and dreams of one day getting the Dalai Lama really really really drunk. She has performed in every theatre in Dublin and also in London, Glasgow, Endinburgh, New York, Sydney and Adelaide. Recent television work includes Paths to Freedom, Black Day At Blackrock, No Tears and Fergus's Wedding. She appears as Gubnait Krell in Crazy Dog's Mark Time winning episode of BIG BIG SPACE and as the devilish Ms. Mephistopheles in THE APOCALYPSE OF BILL LIZARD. She also demonstrates her immense talent in 5 of the 6 CRAZY DOG LIVE plays. Her voice over demo can be reached at: Link: www.voicebank.ie/anne_byrne.html | | Dave Murray Dave Murray has performed in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Berlin, London, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Edinburgh, Strasbourg and all over Ireland in theatre, music and films such as FLICK, VERONIC GUERIN, HUNTED and COWBOYS & ANGELS. He has worked extensively with Roger Gregg over the past 11 years, begining with creating a Star Trek parody show for Bono's private birthday bash! Dave portrays First Officer Hoax Minstrel in the BIG BIG SPACE series, the tormented Virgil Morrison in THE APOCALYPSE OF BILL LIZARD and in the Crazy Dog Live series Dave can be heard as the writer Tadhg Furey in SUNDRIVE BOULEVARD, Geldorf the Bard in Ferdia the Druid and as Damien 'The Croc' Devlin in Ronnie O'Callaghan: Pyschic Investigator. | | Mikel Murfi Mikel Murfi is from Sligo. He has been acting for a number of years, not having noticed. He goes into rooms with Roger Gregg against professional advice and comes out cleansed. He is leader of a new religion which openly extorts money from whirly-gig owners and will shortly be heard in a head near you. He writes all his own biographies under the umbrella of FIFTA SIXTA, a triglomoration of several former hedgeschool owners. He carries out lengthy discussions, in short. Lately, at a rally for latent windscreen scrapers he was awarded a lifetime. He continues to this day. Mikel can be heard in THE APOCALYPSE OF BILL LIZARD playing the roles of Dr. Faustus, Bucci Koan, Ghost of Jack, Man-In-White-Two. He also appears in the CRAZY DOG LIVE play 'THE GHOST BEHIND THE BLACK DOOR'as the caretaker Mr. Mahony from the far far far west of Ireland. | | Deirdre Molloy Deirdre Molloy is not only a leading voice-over artist, director and performer, but she’s great craic as well! This was finally acknowledged officially when she received a RITA [Really Irish Theatre Award] for ‘Best Company’ in 2002. Deirdre also appears in Crazy Dog’s Apocalypse of Bill Lizard. For those suffering from L.O.I. [Lack of Irish], ‘Craic’ may be loosely translated as ‘Extreme Festive Fun’ – which indeed Deirdre personifies. Her voice over demo can be reached via: Link: http://www.voicebank.ie/deirdre_molloy.html | | Conor Lambert Conor Lambert was born into a family of goat farmers in the west of Ireland. It was during his early days that began to study the language of goat, it was then Conor discovered that there was an amazing 2,354 words for grass in Goatish and an amazing 5,000 words for Baa. After going mad in the late 70’s Conor developed a healthy interest in chickens, their language too he mastered and before he knew it he had 250 ways of saying \“chuck\”. Eventually he considered- to be able to understand and speak to humans could also be useful. Once Conor met an Eskimo. Conor now is an actor who needless to say is the biggest animal entertainer in Ireland! You can catch him live in a kennel, coop or stable near you. It was at such an event where Conor met Roger Gregg (who was performing with mind reading weasels at the time) who immediately asked him to work with him on a thing called Crazy Dog Audio Productions, which Conor is still considering. Conor is 2ft 6’ and collects doormats and sink plungers. His favourite colour is six. Previous television credits include: The Year of the French, Memoirs of an Irish RM, Remington Steele, Lexx and Troubles. He is to star as Pierce Brosnan's Dad in his latest movie Evelyn. Frank joked to Ireland on Sunday "Once you've played James Bond's father, the only way is down." And it's not the first time Kelly starred along side Brosnan, Frank notes; "I tried to blow his head off with a shotgun in an episode of Remington Steele." | | Owen Roe What can one say about Owen that he wouldn't interrupt? From a very early age, he had a huge desire to become a household name. Having disguised himself as a kitchen blender for several years (sadly to no avail) he tried his hand at acting. The rest of his body was eventually used and in next to no time he became one of Ireland's busiest actors. In fact he's often heard to quip, 'If I had my whole life to live over again - I wouldn't have the time!'. See? He's one crazy, funny sonofabitch is Owen! | | Karen Ardiff Karen Ardiff's love of radio stems in part from it being the only medium for which she doesn't have to fill in her eyebrow piercing with morticians wax. She's done tons of radio plays and voice overs, but never 'till now with mad people like Crazydog. She's with the Lisa Richards Agency (01) 6603534 | | Mary McEvoy Mary McEvoy quit Ireland's longest running prime time television drama series, GLENROE after 17 years to pursue other theatrical avenues of self-expression. Of him it has been said by critics: "Can't sing, can't dance, can't act, he's a star!". He was thrilled to be allowed into the same company of Roger Gregg and Crazy Dog Live to star as Captain Scott in Morgan Jones's radio play SCOTT'S LAST LAST TRIP | | Phil Proctor Phil Proctor is an actor, singer, writer, composer, director and producer. 'This crazy dog was always a stray, so long and I promise to write' XXX. | | Dermot Magennis Dermot Magennis has been acting for 4 years now. As you can imagine, he's pretty tired, though there are plans to take a 15 minute tea-break sometime in 2006. His experience covers theatre, film, television and thanks to Roger Gregg's persistent brain fever, radio. His previous appearance with Crazy Dog was as Big Jim Chancer in 2 episodes of Big Big Space where he threw himself wholeheartedly into the role. He did, however, baulk at Roger's suggestion of having a peg leg fitted, despite Mr. Gregg's cries of "I know you'd be losing a leg, but feel the quality of that oak!!". Greatest Ambition: To spend a day in Roger Gregg's ("just to see where all this mad stuff comes from") Greatest Fear: To spend a day in Roger Gregg's head (see above).
